OREAS 13c is a multi-element Certified Reference Material containing platinum group elements (PGEs), copper, nickel and gold dispersed in a gabbronorite matrix.
The gabbronorite host was obtained from a mafic to ultramafic intrusive
complex (Giles Complex) within Mesoproterozoic granulites of the Musgrave
Province, Western Australia. To this barren matrix, carefully proportioned
additions of ore materials were blended, including high-grade nickel sulphide
ores from the Cosmos district (Western Australia) and Glencore’s Sudbury
operations (Canada), a copper-rich ore from the Cobar region of New South Wales,
PGE ores from the Bushveld Complex (Dishaba and UG2 Reef, South Africa), and a
high-grade gold ore from the Frogs Leg deposit in Western Australia.
OREAS 13c has been characterized using the following methods:
Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of accreditation.
